Two new meetings have opened up in the metro area. Please NOTE: Due to a technical difficulty we hope to resolve soon, these meetings do not yet appear when using the meeting search tool at namilwaukee.org/meetings.

Also, the Recovery to the Max meeting has moved to its summer location, the Humboldt Park Band Shell in Bay View. This will be the meeting’s regular location until Labor Day. (NOTE: This change is also not reflected yet in the meeting search tool.)

Between June 14 and August 23, the Gen X meeting will be held at a temporary location: New Hales Corners Lutheran Church, 12300 W. Janesville Road

As part of annual planning this year, GSRs identified making area more attractive as the body’s #1 priority. In subsequent meetings of the Fellowship Development Workgroup in Milwaukee and Waukesha to discuss how we could accomplish that goal, the issue of when area is held came up repeatedly. Members felt that the current schedule, which falls over dinnertime, was not ideal.

As a result, GSRs voted at the May area to change the meeting times for the Milwaukee Area Service Committee to the following, effective AUGUST. (The delay will give us plenty of time to inform groups.)

• Literature sales, area donations: 2:00-3:00 pm
• Area service meeting: begins at 3:00 pm
• H&I meeting: begins at 1:00 p.m.

Please help spread the word. Area will still meet on the second Sunday of the month, and the June and July areas will still be held at the regular times. (More information can be found on any copy of the area meeting list.)

All Friendship Club meetings are once again being held at their usual location, the Friendship Club, 4102 W. Townsend St., Milwaukee. They are no longer being held at a temporary location.

A new meeting has begun at 630pm on Saturdays at 642o W. Mitchell St. (Walking in the Spirit Ministries) in West Allis. Its trusted servants say to enter through the parking lot that faces on South 64th Street.

This is an open meeting that plans to have a female speaker weekly and both male and female speakers on the last Saturday of the month.

(This is an NA service meeting for learning about NA service activities.)

A workshop on the Service System Project has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3022 W. Wisconsin Avenue.

A member closely familiar with the project, an ongoing effort to redesign and strengthen NA’s worldwide service structure, will lead the workshop. Food will also be available.

There will be a meeting on Sat., Dec. 15 to discuss the formation of a group service unit serving the Waukesha area.

According to the meeting’s flyer:

In order to better fulfill our primary purpose, carrying the message to the addict who still suffers, there will be a meeting to discuss the formation of a Waukesha County Group Support Unit as outlined in the 2011 Service System Proposal. Anyone and everyone is welcome, it is through this process we come to know both the groups’ and our HP’s will.

A Time to Share, which meets Wednesday nights at Dryhootch, 1030 E. Brady St., has changed its starting time to 6:00 pm.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 20, the location for the Thanksgiving event has changed. It is no longer being held at St. Peter and Paul Church on the East Side. It will be held according to the original schedule at the location of the Lifeboat meeting – Salem Lutheran Church, 2400 N. Cramer St., Milwaukee. The USSC workshop will be held as planned from 11am to 2pm in an upstairs room at Salem Lutheran, and the dinner will follow downstairs at 430pm. A speaker is still planned for 7pm.

The Recovery to the Max meeting, held on Friday nights at 7:00pm, has moved to their Winter location, effective immediately.
